Gauntlet of Sheild

Okay is the calculation for this item right?

Sheild Spell (lvl 1) x Caster Level (3) x Command Word 1800 GP = 5400 GP to purchase?

Seems like that's correct. If I were the DM, I'd probably increase the price a bit because one of the disadvantages spells such as shield, expeditious retreat, and true strike have is that the caster cannot bestow them on someone else. The magic item rules don't work very well when you apply them to spells of that nature, just as they don't work well when you make a continuous item for a spell that lasts rounds/level. I'd probably double or triple the price of the gauntlets with that in mind.

Edit: A better way to do it might be to try and figure out what level Shield would be if you could cast it on others. Using Shield of Faith as a road map, I'd say it'd be at least 2nd or 3rd level (the new spell would be better than SoF, and should thus be higher level). Plugging those numbers into the formula:

Sheild Spell (lvl 2) x Caster Level (3) x Command Word 1800 GP = 10800 GP

Sheild Spell (lvl 3) x Caster Level (5) x Command Word 1800 GP = 27000 GP

If I'm not mistaken isn't sheild spell register as Target: You, meaning only the caster?

Also I wouldn't have a problem with it being limmited to only the user. Also if this was done by a 3rd level caster is it minimun effect level Ie 1 minute or a nubmer or minutes equal to caster level?

Yes, but my point is that to cast the shield spell, you normally have to be a sorcerer or wizard. Allowing others to utilize the spell takes away one of its primary disadvantages, and it should therefore cost more for others to be able to use it. If it were only activated by a caster, like a scroll or wand, that would be fine.

What about a monks belt or boots of speed, are they a tweaked price? haste is an arcane spell afterall and others can use it as use activated.

But you can receive haste w/o being an arcane caster. That's the difference. A wizard can cast haste on other people, he cannot cast shield on them. Thus, it's not an issue for the monk's belt or boots of speed.

Now, if you had an item that permanently put haste on someone, that would be an issue. Haste normally lasts only 1 round/level, and to have it continuously active is a pretty big jump in power. That's one reason the Armor of Speed in DotF is majorly broken.

You have a good point, and I kinda like your idea of 10+ K, It is not incredibaly out of reach and after all it blocks magic missle, +3 reflex bonus and +7 AC.

But would it last for 1 minute or 3 minutes per use?

3 minutes because the caster level would still be 3rd.

Items that grant +7 AC tend to cost 49k at a minimum. Mage armor is a 1st level spell but bracers of mage armor cost 16k. The thing about shield is that it is stackable with all other forms of defense which makes it immensely powerful.

Look at what it does for you...

Instead of looking at the spell level then look at what the spell does for you.
+7 to AC that’s 49.000.- but it is just on one side so lets say half price. Then +3 to reflex save. That will normally cost 3*3*250=2250 and because it is a 2nd ability the price is double =4500.-. Then the last effect, blocking of MM. The brooch of shielding is priced at 1500.- and is limited to absorbing 101hp of MM. Shield has no limit other than time, so I will say the price is 2000.- times two because 2nd ability =4000
If I add all this together the price is 33,000.- that price seem just right to me.
