Gaxmoor - did anyone ever play this?

Has anyone run Gaxmoor from TLG and The Gary's brood? I picked up a copy ($3!) in my LGS's bargain bin a couple of months ago and have been threatening to use it as an infamous abondoned city in my WHF game (Sotur).

Any notes/comments/complaints/advice?

It's a very nice adventure, and very appliable/tweakable. The only problem, IMO, is that it needs a lot of work to be prepared, in comparison to more linear adventures (Barakus, for example). :)

However, it's great fun, and I can only recommend it!

I seconded the part about prep. I too have read through it and it gives you plenty in a round about way. If I run it, you almost need it to be a place to visit, beat upon the creatures, leave, do some other things, come back later and continue the beatings, etc.

I do enjoy the variety of make alliances.

I recently picked up a cheap copy of this, too, but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

I have it as a Spot on the Map for my Game World.

PC's have never even come close to it.

I like it as I read through it & it fit nicely into my game world.

But I'm not sure I'll ever run it, unless some players look at my map, point, and say "Let's go there."

Well, if you're looking for a city that seems as though it were generated using random tables, Gaxmoor will give you that in spades (e.g., an unguarded fountain in the town square that produces various lethal substances at random). If you're looking for something that has a large degree of internal consistency, you'll probably be better off looking elsewhere.
