Gaxmoor In

Hey guy's some us are still trying to get to Little Rock for Game stuff nevermind Cons in Bama and Stillwater. Beside's after y'alls sound defeats by the Razorbacks I'd figured y'all wouldn't want us there. LOL

Soooooo....

I am thinking we are going to go the Alabama for a con this summer. That will be sweet. We need to find some people down in that neck of the woods to run a few mods for us. Maybe do a gaxmoor thing. We offer door prizes to our DMs, especially those that kill every party member - huzah.

I can't think of the name of the con though. Initial responces to Gaxmoor are looking good - at least no one has blasted us yet. But we look foward to all responces.

Gaxmoor Thoughts

I am still reading this book. Overall, I was pleased with Gaxmoor, except for the following...

(1) There should have been a section summarizing the characters goals and what happens if the objectives were reached. There's no real "epilogue" in terms of the setting. This IMO was an omission. The prologue and guides are well thought out, though.

(2) The new spells and magic items needed better editing. For the magic items, they should all have been given prerequistes and prices or otherwise be labelled /minor artifacts/. Some of the spells were not detailed well--Infravision no longer exists, for instance, and I can't figure out what the "reverse" spells are supposed to do: there's no such thing as a "reversable spell" in 3e, and the descriptions are rather vague.

John,

I'm glad your enjoying the overall work. I think you have justified crits of the setting though. It does 'suddenly wrap up.' But the good news is Luke has begun scripting the Undercaverns or undercity, we are rambling over the name ;)

And for the d20 editing, we have taken care of that in force. All future products, and printings of Gaxmoor, will be gone over thoroughly by our new d20 editor. We hired him as soon as problems with the Codex magic items became apparent (though Gaxmoor was already at the printer and too late to fix). We have found ourselves in a tight spot of a small but rapidly growing company trying to juggle too many balls. Well Jeff will certainly help us along in that respect.

Thanks for the comments!
Steve

Taking broadsides

Ouch we took a broadside, swing the mainmast, retract the sales, figure out whats going on.

I think they threw out reversible spells a long time ago because they could never figure out what the reverse of a reverse spell was.

Thanks fo the word up on the magic items and such they are to get closer attention in the future. As for a wrap, daaaaang, everything's dead - LOL. Maybe we'll be able to talk Ernie and Luke into coming up with something and then we can post it on the Web.

Well, anyway, glad you enjoyed the mod, thanks for playin' and posting. We need the critical comments so we can keep on improvin' our products. If you're at Origins or Gen Con be sure to drop by and let us know more.

Again, I should say I LIKED it

Again, I should say I liked that module, and for the most part, everything about it was good.

I especially liked the exploritory nature of it, since it harkens back to that other famous module, Temple of Elemental Evil, and it's definately a mini-campaign. Pretty much everything was covered well, except the "sudden" ending. Maybe that's something to deal with for individual campaigns, but since so much detail there is given at the beginning, I kinda expected a little denoument (did I spell that right  )

By the by

This is Davis and not Steve. LOL, i took over his computer today so the post will appear as though they are from Steve and they are actually from me, that is - Davis.

Hope I didn't sound sarcastic in the previous post, Steve constantly tells me to tone it down as I sound sarcastic sometimes when I am not trying to.

I amjust trying to make jokes. And welllll, I suck at. I have to make up my own cause I can't remember any....

Glad you liked, you are right - on about the ending, It is abrupt. For some reason when i did the first edit on it I did not feel - probably because I was reading for grammar/spelling/punctuation... I read it again last night, and yeah, i see what you mean.

The exploratory nature of the mod is its best aspect. For two reasons; one its fun to wander and explore all the intersting locals. Two it can take a lot of time - the mod has a long term time/investment value. We encourage people to eat that up..
Anyway
Have fuun

Nah, I knew you were joking...

Hi there,

I knew you were making a few jokes there. ;)

It just seemed weird that there were two posts from TLG in a row, which made me want to give comment. My original post wasn't meant as a "negative", just a critique.

I will have to somehow figure out if EGG has hidden puns in any of those statues.
