Salty rant incoming. Easily offended fans, prepare butt ointment. Herbert's Dune is hot garbagio. First 3 books are semi decent as political SF with mostly coherent story. After that, it goes into mess akin to philosophical ramblings of philosophy student on acid. Also, it's boring. On the other hand, some of prequel books are actually interesting, like 3 books about houses. At least those books don't try to be anything other than light generic SF. DS9, especially Domion War, is best Star Trek. Hands down. SW ep 1-3 are solid fun movies. Rogue One is only decent "new" SW film, and that film is more or less just SW version of partisan movie. Big Bang Theory is decent sitcom and only got better with inclusion of female cast. I don't mind reboots of popular old films if they well done. Total Recall with Collin Farell was better than original with Arnold. I don't care if WoTC tries to close off their licenses, nor do i care if they try to screw over other publishers. In the end, they are all competing for the same pool of customer money. As a customer, only thing i care is if end product has good value proposition or not. Main line Marvel/DC comics are mostly boring cash cows, same goes for movies/tv shows.
