Geekish Donations

Ladies and gents, I have a request. But first, some background...

Last year, my wife walked the Susan G Komen 3-Day for the Cure, a charity supporting breast cancer research. This year, she's working support crew, to give fundraising a rest, but we are already looking forward to fundraising for summer 2012.

Last year, my wife's team held a little crafts fair at a local housing community, with a raffle of prizes donated by crafters, local restaurants, and the like. It was the big winner of fundraising for them, far more effective than we thought possible, so we are cranking it up a notch. And to do that properly, we need to start planning now...

We're taking our raffle to one of Boston's local sci-fi cons - Arisia, in January. We want to hit this out of the ballpark, so we are looking to gather the biggest pile of awesome geek-appropriate swag donations possible. Books signed by authors, rare books, jewelry, rare media, artworks - anything you might want to see on sale at a Con, we probably want it.

If you know a fantasy/sci-fi artist, game designer, jeweler, author, game publisher, store or vendor that might want to make a donation, I want to hear about it. We intend to have posters and listings giving credit to our donors, and to have prizes on display during the Con. And, of course, Komen is a proper charity, so donations are tax-deductible.
