[Gen Con 04] The Insane Game - Updated 8/15/03!

I'm liking that as well, Stormy.... Only prob with bringing your own chars is that you have to have them approved prior to the game and that could become a drag... It would do little but bring the table down when someone yanks out their 50th level gold dragon/necromancer/half-lich/demon-spawn kobold sorcerer monk.

I think limiting it to core rules only for character generation. THen we place on a level cap limit like five.

Sounds like fun. I've been itching to get back to GenCon (it's been 10 years since I last made it) and next year is looking to be the year I'll make it back

Assuming it grows to the point where you need more than the two DMs already listed go ahead and throw my name into the hat of people who would be more than willing to DM as well

This needn't be an either/or thing, either: if folks would rather play a D&D game as the ENBoard official game, that makes complete sense. Your post just reminded me of our long-term plan to run this game again, and it occurred to me that GenCon 2004 might be the place to put the plan into action.

Just to be different, if I make it to GenCon Indy next year (donations gladly accepted) I'll run a 'consolation' game or two for folks who croak early.

I agree with Crothian, we should just keep it to core rule book stuff, and we could implement a point buy for stats. And just say 5th level, and only PC races allowed. That should give everyone an equal footing.

I'd definitely vote PnP - no LARP. Most of us here do d20 (obviously) and I would wager than many here have never larped, and have no desire to do so.
