Hey, if the attorney involved in the group buying GenCon is from KY, I wonder if this means GenCon will move to Louisville after any contracts with Indianapolis expire.

I could actually commute to GenCon and spend all that room money on "Stuff"!

I don't like this. If WotC can't make it work and Peter can't make it work, that suggests to me that the future of the Con itself might be in very real trouble. I'd really hate to see Gen Con go away.

Based on past comments from Peter, the Star Wars Experience was the real villain here, racking up a mound of debt that dragged down the rest of the company. Without that, I think Gen Con would still be running smoothly and in the black.

Hmm,

I'm curious to see who is actually behind the purchase. I could easily see it being the City of Indianapolis given the amount of tourist dollars the Con brings into their city every year. But given the location of the lawyer involved that doesn't seem likely. Definitely bears watching.

And here I am, trying to plan out my first-ever pilgrimage to Gen Con. Things are getting interesting...

Every time I've planned to go to GenCon, just like every time I've planned to buy my first modern Mac, I get laid off, or suffer some other, unforeseen and sudden economic change, thus my inability to go this year, which was my best potential since 2002-2003.

Anyhow, I hope whatever the outcome, that whomever buys the convention, focuses on GenCon, as opposed to the other add-ons, which seemed to cause the issues that GenCon is now suffering, and this tradition in gaming keeps going on.
