Gen Con damage assessment

Yeah -- I think you would have really enjoyed yourself OG. I think Chris told you about the 60'x20' Attack! board. Also there were games of Civilization and Age of _____ going on constantly. I'm sure that your could have even found people to play full games of Supremacy with. The wargame room was constantly a-buzz with several major re-enactments and 6 players to a side. All quite impressive!

As for this weekend, I'll have to bow out of running any games with this short notice but would gladly play anything. I plan on brewing another beer on Saturday morning and bottling my Nut Brown Ale on Sunday (I had a dream about it last night and it was delicious!)

Well, I could run something if no one else volunteers. I have a ton of superpowered goodness I could unleash on you guys. I think I would want to run an Aberrant style supers game (dark and gritty with conspiracy overtones), more than a straight comic book style superhero game though. Maybe the heroes would be investigators or agents of some sort... (combining my two favorite genres, espionage and superheroes.) And if anyone needs the rules, I have two extra copies here at the house for Silver Age Sentinels D20.

Let me know if that appeals to anyone, otherwise I am up for anything anyone else wants to play.

I still have your book, thormagni. So, if we are play sentinels: same character or different? If different, freeform? Or strict adventurer? I have the basic character generation down pat (so to speak). How many powerpoints?

Well, if we are playing SAS, and everyone buys into the espionage/conspiracy/Aberrant sort of game I have in mind, then 150 character points and 30 skill points to start and no more than three defects. Characters shouldn't be too flashy or inhuman looking as they will have to pass for human. And no mental powers (telepathy, mind control) please. Those will be extremely rare in this game. I will post some general campaign guidelines and history, hopefully tonight when I get off work. But in general, you will be operatives for a shadowy quasi-government agency that keeps track of the emerging number of superhumans, known as "Novas."

Or we can do a straight superhero/comic book game. Either way is cool with me. Just let me know if this is in fact what we are playing and which way we want to go. If we go straight supers I will post some different guidelines for that genre.

I'm all for the first option. I'll make up a character tonight. More info would be appreciated. :)

BTW - I was almost going to back out on Saturday, but you've talked me into it. :)

Where are we playing??

Hey that's cool! I didn't know I had such powers of persuasion :) It'll be a fun game (no matter what we play) and I am really looking forward to playing. Gen Con gets my gaming juices just bubbling.

My house is out for this Saturday (no time to straighten it up, I'm afraid.)

I'll e-mail out directions to my house... :)
