There are several clubs downtown. Just go a few blocks south of the circle on Meridian and there are a half a dozen. I can't really vouch for them--I'm way past my club days.
There's also Broadripple several miles north of downtown. You'd need to catch a cab up there, but there are a ton of bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants, comedy clubs all within walking distance of each other. I'm actually going down there tonight.
Oh, BTW. Downtown Indy is a big North, South, East, West grid centered on The Circle. Meridian runs N/S through the circle and Market runs E/W. The convention center is about two blocks west and a block or two south of the circle. IMO, all the good stuff downtown is just south of the circle, around Washington/Meridian and Circle Center mall.
You can see what I mean by checking out the Google Maps satellite images. Just put in 100 S. Meridian, Indianapolis, IN.
