GENCON 2008 - Who's Going?

Yep, third year in a row. I'm going.

I just hope my company doesn't have another summer like 2007. I only managed to come by the skin of my teeth; and I was worried the whole time about work

I think KidCthulhu is coming this year, as well.

I'll be going, unless something radical happens. I already have the time off, and am putting money away each month in preparation. Definitely looking forward to seeing people from the boards while I'm there, and hopefully getting in a game or two.

Ok, I know it is not even 2008 yet, but I've been browsing the Gen Con website and I really hope to make it this year.

My company has its warehouse out in Lebanon, IN (not far from Indy) so I'm hoping to combine a business/pleasure trip (I usually visit it at least once a year).

Anyone else planning on attending?

I kicked myself for backing out last minute and missing the big announcement, but I will be there next year, for the first time. I keep hearing that a lot of you EN Worlders are cool people that run cool games. I hope y'all don't disappoint .

So a few questions before I commit to going:

1. Do I bring my own dice or do you guys provide them if I play at your table?

2. If my wife catches me sneaking a peak at some booth girl, where do I run and hide to?

3. If a gamer approaches me and he's weird enough to creep me out, is there spray repellant that I can use to protect myself? If not, do I throw soap at him and run?

4. If we meet a fellow poster that we don't like online, are we allowed to punch him in the nose at the con?

5. If 12 of us share the same hotel room, how do we determine who gets the bed? Or do all 12 of you guys sleep in the same bed when sharing a room?

6. Am I allowed to take Gary Gygax's wife out for dinner while he's busy DM'ing you people on his wedding anniversary?

7. WotC announced D&D 4e at the last con...when they announce D&D 5e at GenCon 08, what booth should I loot first during the riots?

8. If I want to meet up with people from this website, will I need to meet people from Ennn World at one booth and then another group from E.N. World at another booth, or will both parties be in the same location?

9. Since I will be wearing Piratcat's pants, what does he look like so I know to avoid him?

10. I'm worried that I'll be spending a lot of money at the con. How do I convince my wife to allow me to buy a pretty booth girl and take her home with me?

For the first time in the history of Forever, I intend to go to GenCon.

And I'm bringing Valanthe and the rest of the clan with. It's part of the Year of the Con!

Man, this makes me really want to go to meet you guys. Right in the middle of dang double sessions... There is just no way.
