GENCON 2008 - Who's Going?

IIRC you requested suggestions about these events...what did you decide to go with?

The following are the three Traveller scenarios I've submitted for Gen Con Indianapolis 2008.

Traveller OGL: Return of the Chamax
Synopsis: In this homage to a Traveller Classic, a ship bearing the dreaded Chamax crashes on the surface of an inhabited planet, putting the population in peril unless something is done to remove this alien infestation. Characters provided. A Mongoose Publishing supported event.
Requested Schedule: Thursday, 08/14/2008, 2pm to 6pm

Traveller OGL: Dr. Smith and the Ine Givar
Synopsis: Dr. Eneri Smith is missing, and the Imperial Ministry of Justice suspects the involvement of Ine Givar terrorists. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to locate the terrorist encampment and extricate the scientist to safety. As usual, should you fail, the Imperial government will deny all knowledge of your actions. Characters provided. A Mongoose Publishing supported event.
Requested Schedule: Thursday, 08/14/2008, 7pm to 11pm

Traveller OGL: Casino Imperial
Synopsis: Top secret data revealing many of the Imperial Ministry of Justice's covert operatives and their activities has been stolen. The IMoJ has learned that the data will be auctioned off at the Casino Imperial. Your team has been assigned to recover the stolen data and, if possible, substitute false data that will misdirect the enemies of the Iridium Throne. Characters provided. A Mongoose Publishing supported event.
Requested Schedule: Friday, 08/15/2008, 7pm to 11pm

All of these scenarios will take place in the Spinward Marches during the Classic Era, circa 1105. Lots of Traveller Goodness (tm) here!

Sounds good. I've joined a few demo games with generic tickets, but never pre-registered for specific events. I may try to sign up for one of these. Do I need experience with the system for your games?

Thanks! You won't need any experience with the system. I have introduced many to various forms of Traveller in recent years, and I always plan on doing so for Con games.

I will warn you, though. My Traveller games always sell out fast (because I'm usually the only one that runs them at Gen Con and people like to get tickets to all three, when they can). If you want a guaranteed seat, be sure to sign up as soon as event registration begins. If you get locked out, bring generics anyway. At ten minutes after the game begins, if there are empty seats, I'm allowed to take generics instead. I typically have one session that everyone shows up that signed up, one session with empty seats that get filled by generics for a full table, and one session with modest attendance that still has an empty seat or two after generics are taken. It's just the way things work, sadly enough, despite the slots filling up quickly during registration. The biggest problem is that you never know which session will fall into which category.

Yeah, the Hilton's suites are HUGE! You'll be quite comfy there, and will even have room for a friend or seven.
