That's completely a misinterpretation, by "ghostly felines" they were referring to the cover:
Nevermind the illusions, that looks like a goliath. Thought they were lame in 3E, and now they're core? But they're trademarkable, and they say "brand, brand, brand", so in they go! Glad I bottled so early, stuff that for a joke. PHB3 will bring warforged, PHB4 gungans, PHB5 furries...

I just wish they had some info on when/where Psionics will start making an appearance aside from as a damage type.
Look how long it took them to "get it right" the first time.
I'm willing to wait for psionics if it means its not clunky, weighed down, broken, or exactly the same as the billion of magic using classes that might exist by then.

Mind trying to be a bit less melodramatic? What did you do with Goliaths when they were introduced in 3E? do the same with them in 4E.

Things a Goliath Race will do when introduced with PHB2
Give players another Race Option

Things that won't happen when the Goliath Race gets introduced with PHB2
Break campaigns which do not include them.
Make all your players hate you because you are disallowing a race.

I mean really, more options are good, just disallow them/change the fluff if you don't like them its easy, the only stuff which really matters is the mechanics.

A proper treatment of Eberron will be what has a chance of bringing me to 4e, but seeing the race restrictions on the Houses loosened (if not broken) is a major problem for me.

I could go on for pages on why I think this is wrong...the mystery of the lesser races and Dragonmarks, the fact that these are FAMILIES, that there is a known hereditary link with Dragonmarks....if this is just lightly mentioned, then I can write it out easily enough. If, however, they do something that ties this strongly into the 4e Eberron rules and fluff, then I'll probably stick with 3.5.

All psionic classes will 90% likely be like all magic using classes. They've pretty well stated every class will use the power system. They get the at wills, encounters and daily powers just like the Wizard, Fighter, Cleric and so on.

I didn't like the goliath that much, especially when they implied they might be excluding half-giants because of them. But at least they aren't as lame as the Illumians. I just hope that once PHB3 or whatever comes along, the freaky red-headed step-child, the Elan, comes along and kills the Illumian and takes it's "imbued human" schtick and throw the glowing symbols into the trash.

And I'm absolutely sure that PHB3 won't ever have the warforged, simply because the Eberron Adventurer's Guide which has PC info on them, comes out months before that.

Generally Wotc has stunk at giving us coverage from Gen Con on their site. Regardless of the actual content, they are making progress in this regard. Best coverage they've had on line yet, I think.
