[GenCon] Hotels in Indy

There are a couple of lower-price parking garages in the area, but you will have to walk a few blocks to get to the Convention Center.

One is located on the east side of Meridian Street by Union Station. It's about 3-4 blocks away.

Another is the Circle Center Mall parking garage on Illinois Street. It is connected to the Convention Center by skywalk, or about 2 blocks at street level.

I don't know the exact prices for either of these locations, but I will try to find out.

The parking garage my hotel used was open to the public. It was right across the street from the Convention center, underneath the little fountain park. I think it was $25/day.

I think that was around the cost I saw listed but I would not be surprised to less. Check the links above. Plus some free parking near the baseball field and miltary park.

Plus parking on the street (at any space with a parking meter) after 6pm and on weekends is free;-)
Oooo... good tip, UnderDog! Thanks!

Has anybody stayed at the Westin? Am I correct that it is connected to the convention center?

I haven't stayed there myself, but I have heard that the Westin is one of the nicer hotels in Indy.

Yes, there is a direct bridge from the Westin to the Convention Center

Just got an email from GenCon stating that registration would be open tomorrow!

I honestly can't remember which hotel I stayed in last year. The really tall one. :)

It was quite nice.

I stayed there once when I was in Indy for a meeting. It's nice, but I prefer a suite. Especially for GenCon, having a suite means you've got yet another place to game!

From Circle Center Mall's website:
Parking Circle Centre offers 3 parking garages: the Sun Garage (entrances on the south side of Washington Street between Illinois and Meridian Streets and on the north side of Maryland Street between Illinois and Meridian Streets); the Moon Garage (entrance on the north side of Georgia Street between Illinois and Meridian Streets); and the World Wonders Garage (entrances on the west side of Illinois Street between Georgia and Maryland Streets and on the south side of Maryland Street between Illinois Street and Capitol Avenue).
Monday - Friday from 9:30am - 5:00pm:
0 - 3 hours $1
3 - 4 hours $3
4 - 5 hours $5
5 - 12 hours $8
12 - 18 hours $9
After 5:00pm, Monday - Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday:
0 - 5 hours $1
5+ hours $2
Event parking is $10, unless you have $20 worth of Circle Centre receipts and present them to the parking attendant.
I parked in Circle Center last year and they weren't charging Event Parking. But, neither did I get the discounted Saturday/Sunday rate on the last two days.
