I wouldn't trust a weather forecast for Indianapolis that far in advance. We have a saying here, "If you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes, it'll change." I have seen the forecasters predict sunny skies all day, and we'll have thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Thus far, August has been MUCH cooler than normal. Today we had record lows and record-low highs. It's supposed to warm up a bit next week, but there's no telling. I'd wait until closer to GenCon before trying to anticipate what to wear. Then again, if you're in a hotel connected to the convention center, you can walk from it to GenCon to the mall without going outside.

Indiana does not have a climate. Indiana has varying spells of unpleasant weather. Expect torrential rain, scorching heat, hail as big as croquet balls, steamy jungle conditions, and an ice storm--all in the same day.

you must have stolen that from Chicago. :D

Last year, the weather was beautiful! I was amazed when the plane landed in Indianapolis that there wasn't a cloud about. Also, coming from Manhattan, it was refreshing to see such open skies! Crystal blue, it was. :)

Anyhow, it did get pretty warm, but I don't think it was particularly humid. Really nice weather, I thought. It only got a bit cloudy and cool on the last day.

I have no idea what it will be like this year, but if it was anything like last year, I'd save some time at the pool if you have access to one. Of course, only a few minutes though as I'm sure you'd want to be gaming!

I stole it from the AM radio station I listen to in the mornings. One of the morning guys is from Chicago, though, so it's possible he brought it with him and it's diffused throughout the station personalities.

I don't think it's going to be as warm this year as it was last year. If (God forbid) they do have lines stretching around the block this year, it should be a little more pleasant.

That was LAST year. The past is no indication of present or future weather in Indiana.

Crystal blue???? Indianapolis skies USED to be blue. They haven't been "clear" or "blue" in decades. They are a pale, greyed-out, and haze-covered ghost of what they used to be. We used to have blue skies, but now we just have an ozone haze.
