GenCon Pickup Games (Post and Signup)

*Printing out the games and forms. Closed for business.*
We will also be bringing blank forms for people to sign up for games at the booth.

I'll gladly manage the master list here in the first post if people want to just post what games they will run or would like to play in. I will assume first-come, first-serve; if you have arrangements with other ENWorlders to play in a pickup game with them already, just include that when you post the game.

For games that start during the exhibitor hall hours, it is suggested that the ENnies booth be used as a gathering place.

Games will be posted in the order that they occur.

*WEDNESDAY*
Time: 7:00-11:00 PM
Place: Omniseverin hotel lobby; look for the fat guy in the Orc and Pie t-shirt. My cell is 214-883-6795.
GM: DonAdam (Adam Martin)
Game: Summa Fantasia
Description: An early preview of a rules-light version of d20; characters will be created by the players before the adventure starts. In addition, people playing in the preview will have a chance to sign up for playtesting the system. A very basic knowledge of the d20 system is required, as well as signing an NDA.

*THURSDAY*

*FRIDAY*
Time: 2:30 PM-6:30 PM
Place: Meet at ENnies booth and find a place to play from there (I will be at the ennies booth 12-2 on Friday and Saturday). At the pickup area most likely, unless it sucks again this year, in which case I will probably resort to my hotel room across the street.
GM: Psion
Game: Traveller d20. There will be some "house rules" used.
Adventure: Margin Call
Description:
Setting - Traveller is set in the far future, in a human dominated interstellar empire. Traveller is largely inspired by classical SF authors such as Piper, Norton, Asimov, Clark, and Niven. This particular game is set in the Domain of Gateway, as described by QLI's Gateway to Destiny book.
Adventure - A lucrative -- if dangerous -- charter deal falls into the lap of a down-on-its-luck far trader, taking it into the Crusis Margin sector beyond the borders of the Imperium.
Spots: 4-6. Let me know preferred character types when you sign up. Generally, starship crews include pilots, astrogators/computer officers, merchant/trader types, engineers, medics, and grunts, though the pregens overlap these types. 4 players will be considered "critical mass".
Experience Required: Familiarity with D20 system games.
Friday:

2. Eltern
3. Ron Vutpakdi (CotI)
4. Chris Treco

i have no idea where i will be at any given time, but if there are any spots left over, i might just show up. ;)

Exactly what I'm looking for: Pickup Games! :D WAAAY better than the hassle of finding games, signing up for them, paying for them, bleh.

I think I can be there for the Weds. game, and if I don't make it to that (Thinking about amount of sleep I need before True Dungeon the next morning ;) ) then I'll be at the Thursday one.

I'll have a pick up game I'll be running but its not d20 and there is no scheduled time for it. I'll probably do a last minute get together of people.

Its a role playing oriented scenerio. Characters will be made on the spot but the game system is so symple that even though no one will know of it, you'll all be experts at the end of the game.

Hollywood Camelot: "The second one is going to be a huge challenge. So, I aplogize in advance if it turns out to not work. Its going to be one of the tougher one shots for me I've ever run. Its is not complicated, it will however be rather role playing intensive.

People will make up characters there. But the idea is Hollywood Camolot. Basically, the after life used to be a place full of wonder and awe. Now, with so many dead souls the best anyone can do is sharing a duplex with three or four other people. So, many of the old souls are coming back. That's not really important it just sets up the reason for:

The characters are going to be Athurian modern characters. Imagine Auther as a Director, Galahad as a young star, Merlin as the props guy, Guinivere as the Script advisor...etc.

Those are just examples, the game is going to be light hearted and really not serious. But at the same time very role playing oriented. One of the things that will make this so hard is if I'm not up to my best role playing wise (I'm not a good role player) the energy won't be there and this might not work.

Now, the game systems is going to be very simple so making characters up on the spot will be easy. Everyone will make up people who work together in making a B movie. THe Camolot part is only sort of needed, it gives it a bit a of a direction.

So, not sure exactly if this actually made sense. The game has a lot of potential we'll just see how it works in reality."

Like Crothian, I don't have anything that has a set time, but I am planning on running a couple of pick up games of D20 Future.

4th level characters.

Adventure 1: Mystery on the UTS Alcatraz

Adventure 2: The King is Dead, Long Live the King

I'll be wearing my ENworld badge to the con, and we'll be into Indy wedneday night. If you're interested, PM me.

I've got 2 spots available, but I can make do with less. :)

I'm willing to run this with four people, but six would be more fun. Pre-gen characters, D&D rules, with a few special twists.

heck yeah! that's what i'm talkin' 'bout.

only problem is, the chaotic nature of getting them together means you might miss out in the trying. ;)
