[GenCon] Things you are looking forward to

Looking forward to seeing Russ and meeting Jane, and seeing Kevin and the other mods for a secret get-together. Rumor has it that Russ doesn't actually know how to play D&D. We'll see, won't we?

Very much looking forward to not driving. I don't think I could have found a cheaper flight than I did.

Looking forward to seeing Arcana Unearthed!

Looking forward to seeing all sorts of EN World folk on Friday!!

Not exactly looking forward to being back on the plane by 7:45 on Saturday morning. But still better than last year when I drove home from Milwaukee in the middle of the night after the ENnies.

Ugh...

The long drive home is a killer.

We leave Sunday after close and drive home. I work the next morning (assuming they haven't fired me by then).

:)

Hound Post #1955 - The year that Owen Chamberlain and Emilio Segrè discovered the antiproton, a form of antimatter, and science-fiction writing has never been the same ever again.

Hate that drive back, the last 120 miles feels like it will never end (anyone who has driven I-26 in South Carolina knows what I mean).

That's nothing, compared to the drive across Indiana on (I-65?). It doesn't matter if you are coming from Gary, or from Cincinnati, That is the LONGEST and most BORING drive of my life. Back when Gencon was in Milwaukee, I made that drive three times (1993, 95, and 99.) It was the worst part of the whole 21-hour drive. :)

I hear ya. You know, if WOTC would have just released that '3.5 Core Rulebooks on CD' as read by James Earl Jones, the time would pass a whole lot faster.

Oooh, or 'Arcana Unearthed' as read by Ian Holm.

My problem there was all the road construction, every year down to one lane for 50 miles, then you get to the point they are working and it is only a 100 yard section! :)

It's my first GenCon, so I am looking forward to lots of "holy freaking crap!" (HFC) moments as I take it all in, such as:

"HFC! Cthulhu's Librarian drives like a maniac through Ohio!"
"HFC! FUDGE really is a good system!"
"HFC! Arcana Unearth is the bomb, and the mini is way cool as well."
"HFC! Piratecat really is as good a DM as his storyhour suggests!"
"HFC! Teflon Billy really does have that tatooed on his forehead!"
"HFC! A bar full of gamers!"

etc.

Gorgeous work, and nice strong colours!
I've been thinking of that tattoo a lot lately, since I'm on a working group to come up with tattooing guidelines in prisons, and one of the respsonsibilities I've "acquired" is trying to define what content of tattoos is acceptable. To some, depictions of violence are unacceptable, and yet I have a hard time finding your tattoo objectionable, and hope to bring a copy of the image to the committee for their perusal!
