Even worse, and I bring this up now given what is going on in the RDI, the others in the party are now brought up in this as well, and may be forced into PvP against our will.
We can veto PvPs, was my understanding. The GM is supposed to try to avoid it in such a situation.

if Jdvn1 does not want to play PvP, Rystil Arden needs to accommodate that.

Small question: what would be rthe craft DC for my dwarf to craft a Dwarven Waraxe?
It is listed as an exotic weapon but a dwarf treats it as a martial weapon.
Should it be 15 or 18?

The SRD doesn't specifies the familiarity with any restristions like 'for purposes of proficiency" etc.

Technically, on the charts it's listed as an Exotic Weapon, and should be DC 18 for everybody.

Personally, I'd say that if you are a dwarf, the DC is 15. If you are anything but a dwarf, it's DC 18. It makes sense to me that a dwarf finds it easier to make a "dwarven" weapon.

I'd buy that rational. Eventualy through it shouldn't matter if you intend to craft Masterwork anyway (DC 20). A first level dwarf with 4 ranks in craft, a 14 Int, and Masterwork tools can craft one if it's exotic by taking a 10 as well.

Taking ten on a craft check? I would like to think isn't possible because of the adhere effects of failing the check by 5 or more (waisting the raw materials). Futhermore, why not take 20? That way any first level commoner can craft masterwork items.

Taking 10 is allowed on craft checks (you make something mediocre but not a total failure after a full week), but not taking 20 (for the failure bit you mentioned).

If you can take your time and not rush, you can take a 10 (Craft is actualy the PHB example if I remember right, but Spellcraft is one as well). You can't take a 20 because of failure chance.

And as RA said, if you take your time, you can put in a mediocre effort into your craft, but you can't try everything to get a 20 because of the failure chance and negitive effects.

Another question, this time in response to Velmont's fantsastic Orussus rhread: Is there any procedure or requirement to join a guild? E.g. Minimum skill rank?

Aa a side note: maybe the blacksmith's guild description should include armorsmithing.

Nothing official have been made.

But here what I thought. There is a job system. If you are qualified for a job, it means you have join up the required guild, as I see Orussus as something well structure with the guild. So, to be able to be a merchant, you need to pay for a shop 500gp. I suppose that 500gp not only cover the building or stand where you sell, but also the fee to join the guild and the money to pay your permit, ect...

That's how I percieve it, but I have seen no official ruling in it yet.

That makes sense to me, and in fact it is definitely how it works in Medibaria--I would ask El Jefe, though, since I remember he mentioned that Medibaria was 'more xenophobic' than Orussus in reference to guild membership.
