I am playing Outer Worlds again (in preparation for OW2, which is my most anticipated game of the year). I must be rusty because I dont remember getting bodied this bad by mantidqueens last time I played it.

3 General Gaming Thoughts:

Good -
2025 has been a good year for gaming. Crusader Kings 3 has had exciting DLC; Final Fantasy Tactics has been remastered; Civ 7 (even with some of its issues); Battlefield looks as though it may be good for the first time in a while; etc.

Bad -
It's starting to annoy me that many games no longer offer an option to customize controls. There have been a few games that I bought because they interested me, but then I found the default control scheme to be unintuitive for me.

Neutral -
I'm thinking about getting a new TV. Ideally, it will also occasionally be used for a computer monitor so that I can play some of my Steam library from a mini PC. Is there a particular brand that would be best for this?

Videogames need "previously on" buttons. I often play a game for 10 o 20 hours but then leave it be for a while. What sucks is when I try and go back to it, I dont remember the controls, or the story, and I ultimately end up abandoning it rather than starting over (because I know I will only play for 10 or 20 hours...).

I love a good 100+ hour game, but I don't want to play those 100 hours all at once. I want to play for a while, go do something else, then a few weeks or months later go back to it.

Puts me in mind of this:

That, and a "save and restore muscle memory" feature. A big part of the struggle for me is getting back into the swing of combat and game-mechanics that were second nature to me six months ago.
