I agree with both Nifft and Thanee in that the Bard/Sorc would be more wizard-like, but IMC, all Wizards are Sorcs -- there is no core "Wizard" class. I am also using the Spontaneous Divine Spellcasters alt rule from Unearthed Arcana. In effect, this makes all casters spontaneous. Re: Rogue/Ranger -- I neglected to mention that I changed her around and am using the Urban Ranger type (also found in UA). I am also going to give her levels in Shadowdancer. She is a reformed assassin -- the hero basically gave her an 'out' from her controlling boss and lover. The hero also had him executed for crimes against his people, and allowed the NPC to perform the execution as a final farewell to her old career. Re: Bard/Sorc -- The concept for the demure latina was to have, like Nift suggested, the smart, meek character that the campaign hero would address for intellectual pursuits -- history, arcane lore, much like a sage. However, I also had her as a Sorc as she was originally the only arcane spellcaster in the party. Upon reflection, this doesn't exactly suit her personality, but it would suit her purpose as an arcane caster. I kind of like the Monk idea, but I don't see how a kung-fu master would fit -- this character is specifically designed to *need* protection. :)
