Ghost in the Shell 2 : Innocence

Joker

Don't want to sound elitist but rarely have I been impressed by a movie.

I saw it on the big screen and it was beautiful. The sound, the visuals, the music (Kenji Kawai): Damn!

I have to see it a couple more times so I can understand all the symbolism.

Suffice it to say, it was a worthy sequel.

It was quite good. I loved the part
when Batou and the other cop go to the mob place and Batou promises not to start shooting. And the inevitable line of "I tried". :D
I think I liked this one more than the first, but I think the first suffered more in comparison to the manga whereas I haven't read the manga for part 2 yet. But Batou is just cooler than the Major so him being the main emphasis is fine.

And that damn hound dog was so adorable. :uhoh: I mean that in the manliest way possible. :)

When I was watching this movie, the backgrounds were so realistic that the characters looked fake. It looked like they had filmed actual places, and placed animated characters into the footage.

I liked the movie, but at times the clash between the characters and the background was annoying.

I went to a cinema festival to see this brilliant movie (i'm afraid it won't make it to german cinemas regularly) - i think it was brilliant. BUT...the movie before it was Godzilla: Final Wars, which was more fun actually. And the movie after it was Appleseed, which was better visually IMO. But maybe that's just me...

I thought Appleseed was very funny. The part where Gare..something (the robot) was coughing during his deathscene was hilarious :)

Well, I could go on about the parts that made me laugh, mind you, I didn't think it was a bad movie (Appleseed). I liked the various relationships and the story wasn't half-bad. The CGI was annoying as hell though.

...and i thought Gare was a cyborg, not a robot...

Anyways: Yes, the CGI was strange at first glance. But then i really liked it, despite sitting in the first row.
