Giants of Legend: Good & Bad News

First off, the good. I bought by very first GoL pack today, which was also my very first D&D minis pack! It was the last pack at the store and guess what? Can you say, GOLD DRAGON!!!! Yippee!!! I even got Lareth the Beautiful too!

Now the bad. The gold dragon is BROKEN!!! The head has a little tab that plugs into the body of the dragon, held together with some kind of glue. But whatever moron put it together didn't hold it long enough b/c the tab slipped out and dried in a position that has the head hanging down and to the left. I can probably cut the head off and reglue it back on, but I'm hesitant to in case I screw it up.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does WotC have a returns policy for broken product?

Heck, I had a broken common orc and, after an email to customer service, they sent me a replacement.

With the dragon, they might make you send it in first, but I'd send 'em an email.

Email customer service, and they will take care of it for you. I had a Carrion Crawler who was missing his tentacles, and I emailed them. they had me send it to them, and they sent a replacement. Took about 2-3 weeks, but I got a new one.

Can I say...you suck! ;)

I've only bought 2 boxes, and TWO fiendish t-rexes later....*grumble*

Thanks for the tips. I've sent WotC an email.

You know, I thought the T-rexs looked pretty crappy but then I saw one out of the box and it looks gorgeous. Too bad I have no use for a dinosaur. :\

I also saw the Behir and it looks dang cool (and is really big!).

I had a couple of issues with minis a while back and someone gave me the email address to the guy who does customer service for the minis. I shipped some stuff off to WotC, and about a week later all of my issues were fixed.

I have to say that the customer service at WotC is *great*. They'll take care of your beautiful gold dragon for you (I got one coming in from a trade next week).

I have two Behirs - they are really great. :)

Bad luck with your Dragon, but I'm pretty sure Wizards will do something about it - they've very good with that side of customer service.

I just got my first Huge Red Dragon. Yay!!!

Cheers!

As others have already noted, the customer service department at WotC is pretty reliable in matters such as these. It's unfortunate that your first box contained a damaged mini...but you aren't going to get much sympathy landing one of the premier figures right out of the gate ;).

FWIW, I'm THOROUGHLY impressed by how far the quality of these miniatures has come from the Harbinger series to the Aberrations. Keep 'em coming WotC!!

Oh, the TRexes LOOK great, but WTF is Dino doin' in my D&D box!

Get out that old copy of Isle of Dread. ;)

Actually, it's a Fiendish TRex, summonable by high-level wizards and clerics (Summon Monster VIII). Treat it as a type of demon - it fits that role quite well.

Cheers!
