D&D 5E Githyanki Knight vs. Githzerai Zerth: who would win?

If a Githyanki Knight fought a Githzerai Zerth to the death (or to the pain), who would win?

The Knight is CR 7, has a higher attack bonus (+9 vs. +7), slightly more HP (91 vs. 84), and a higher AC (18 vs. 17). He has a Telekinetic attack which targets the Zerth's weak point (Strength checks) and restrains the Zerth but isn't usable in 1:1 combat because it requires your action every round to maintain.

The Zerth is CR 6, has a marginally higher damage (2x 24 vs. 2x 23), and has three Shield spells per day. He has a spell (Phantasmal Killer) which might be usable against the Knight (imposes disadvantage on attacks and does 4d10 damage) but is hard to land (40% chance of success).

Both of them have options for Plane Shift which can potentially eliminate a combatant in one hit plus a Charisma save.

If we ignore the spellcasting aspect completely, it turns out that they are pretty evenly matched, but Githzerai have the edge. Here's a sim: https://repl.it/EnFq/15

Aliera the Knight of Gith wins 47 out of 100 matches against Kolin the Zerth, with 18.86 HP remaining (20% of total)

It turns out that the Githzerai, despite being lower CR, is actually ever so slightly tougher than a Githyanki Knight in a straight-up 1:1 fight. From a lore perspective I find this pleasing.

Corrected version: Shield spell should add +5 to AC, not just +Proficiency.

Zerthimon the Zerth wins 65 out of 100 matches against Gith the Knight of Gith, with 29.21 HP remaining (34% of total)

Githzerai Zerths are in fact decisively better than Githyanki Knights in direct combat. The Shield spell is huge.

Also, regular Githzerai are ever so slightly tougher than Githyanki for the same reason, again despite being lower CR (2 vs 3).

Katrin the githzerai wins 56 out of 100 matches against Morrolan the githyanki, with 11.10 HP remaining (29% of total)

Yes. Extra AC is amazingly useful in a way many players don't grasp. Those who tout how good an Eldritch Knight is with his heavy armor and shield are correct. He's especially good if you give him Warcaster and a shield (an actual shield).
