Githzerai [FR]

Some questions on Githzerai
- Are there any known Githzerai fortresses in the FR?
- has anyone run a campaign with Githzerai? (adventure ideas, character ideas, background stuff)

To make it short I need everything about these guys, especially if there is reference to FR

I have already checked:
Dragon 306
Manual of the Planes
Monster Manual

Thanks in advance

From what I know of the Githzerai, they don't tend to build fortresses much outside of Limbo. In fact, save for rrackma bands, they don't tend to send organized parties off the plane much at all, from what I know.

I don't recall anything dealing with them and the Realms.

Dungeon #100 (part of the Incursion "event" that crosses between Dragon, Dungeon and Polyhedron) has some cool stuff about githyanki and githzerai, including a host of PrCs, equipment, etc. Definitely worth a look.

Edit: ...and a big Incursion-related adventure, of course. :o

My only recollection of a githzerai in FR was in Skullport. He was a mercenary abandoned by the Zhentarim, IIRC.

One of the campaigns I'm running is about to have a githzerai PC (mind you, this is about to turn into an Epic level campaign). The campaign involves the plot of the aboleth, a la Night Below boxed set, to dominate a large part of Faerun. The aboleth city is located under the Amtar Forest in the south near Dambrath.

The existing PCs have just returned from the Astral Plane where they recover the Annulus from a githyanki lair (I used the Dungeon adventure, Interlopers of Ruun-Khazai) and the githzerai will soon be joining the otherwise all wild elf party.

The githzerai is seeking to recover the Annulus for his own people, but he also understands that the aboleth must be stopped so he joins the PCs. At the end, however, I think he will be nicking off with the Annulus....

Cheers

Arguably githerzai should show up anywhere the githyanki show up ...

If that's true, then the fact there's a bunch of githyanki and 3 red dragons in one of the fallen subkingdoms of Shanatar (beneath the mountains east of Amn/Tethyr) means that some githerzai might show up in the region in short order. (See Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark, probably in the Environs of Ooltul section. Alternatively, check out "The Underdark" when it comes out later this summer.)

Other than the githerzai mentioned in Skullport, the only other "gith-related" FR reference I can think of is an old DUngeon adventure (probably 2e, but could be 1e) that detailed a plot set in The North revolving around a Silver Sword.
