Gladiator arena

First Post
Good morning all,

Hope I have this in the right forum. Was not sure if it should be here or in house rules.

Well right to the point then. I run a regular game once a week and we have been teaching my teenage sons to play. Sunday they were bored so I suggested we play arena style. Basicly just roll a char. and run them through gladiator style battles. They liked the idea (combat is their favorite part of the game, imagine that). This is actually having a good effect as they are learning more of the rules as players and also getting their feet wet as DM's, making/running combats.

This is where I need some input. Anyone know of any good gladiator systems? with things like reputations, arena layout generation? exp/gold payouts. It would save me a great deal of time if someone has this done already.

One of the Dragon magazines had an arena fold out that would be very useful to you. You'll have to search to find out which one but it was earlier this year, IIRC.

(Edit - Here's some info - http://www.paizopublishing.com/news/gladiators1/gladiators.shtml End Edit)

There's also a d20 Gladiator: Sands of Death book by Mongoose and here's a review-

Check the EN World reviews for more info or the Mongoose site for availability.

Have fun! :)
