D&D 5E Glyph of Warding

Don't forget the casting time (1 hour) the fact it cant move once inscribed, and the fact it costs 200gp in Diamond dust per casting.

This. Glyph has been walked back so consistently and repeatedly since 1e/2e that I don't even bother reading it anymore. The casting time, expensive material components, and the inability to move the glyph more than 10 feet makes the spell so narrow that it's basically just a trap for DMs. DMs who don't need a spell description to place a random magical trap.

If the PC has a permanent base it can be loaded with glyphs barring cost. So can a planned kill zone barring time as well.
That is one aspect of Dragon Heist that actually combines well with Glyph of Warding, the PC group is given a Tavern.

Using Glyphs of Warding to store Hypnotic Pattern, Suggestion, Command,
Mass Suggestion, and other such non-violent options encourages some creative thinking. Plus, when you really want to clear the Tavern, the more destructive effect can be triggered off a password/pass-action.

Not if you are a Conjuration School Wizard.
(The above sentence sounds better when Ian Mcdiarmid says it)
