Who rolls the dice really shouldn't matter... but it really feels like it does.
I wouldn't begrudge anyone who wanted to roll their own dice from doing so. For monsters I roll in front of the screen, but the effects of the dice rolls then are largely to be recognize, "felt out", at the table. "Our hirelings were attacked by orcs in the pass on the way to deliver our message. Only Scorul here made it back"
System behind the screen, so it's not rules, but a code breaking activity, is my preferred method of play and it does work wonderfully. However, it does require an honest person running the game and trust between the players.
