ARGOSSEAN CHILDREN AND WORK

A strong work ethic runs through the veins of most Argosseans. "A fair day's wage for a fair day's labor" is a mantra all citizens of the kingdom know from childhood. It is ingrained in them since birth.

Argossean children start work around age 8 and are employed full-time by age 14 or 15.

In game terms, this means that a child character enters a class at about age 8 but does not benefit fully from Level 1 for another 6 or 7 years. By age 14 or 15, and Argossean is a full Level 1 character, with all the benefits of that level and class.

Some characters remain at Level 1 their entire lives. The Hyborian Age is a low level world. Level 10 is the maximum Level that most normal people can attain. In fact, people will go their entire lives and not meet anyone at Level 11 or higher. Note that the Commoner class maxes out at Level 10.

To support this low level world, Experience Points given to characters should also be low. At 1st Level, awards 25 or 50 XP are common.
