Yet anther year where GM's Day appears and my only games are online ones. Guess I'll just continue running the lot of em.

I'm sure none of my players are even aware of GM's day, and somehow I wouldn't feel quite right telling them "yeah there's this new holiday invented by some folks on the internet, and now you guys have to buy me some gaming stuff."

Mother's Day and Father's Day are "inventions" too. And no mother would tell you to remember Mother's Day.
That's the whole idea - the players have to find out about GM's Day for themselves. That shouldn't stop GM's being disappointed if they miss it - just as your mother'd be if you forgot Mother's Day
