Go Alice in Wonderland on your PCs

I work at Toys 'R' Us, and one of the items we have on our little display stands near the checkout lanes, is itty-bitty decks of playing cards (complete with two jokers of different colors). They measure approximately 1.5 x 2.25 inches, and if paired with something like the plastic stands for Cardboard Heroes, would make amazingly accurate miniatures to represent an evil deck of cards (or at least the royal family from which) come to life. Next we need some stats for this pack of 2-D miscreants.

I also noticed several packs of poorly painted plastic animals, one farm animals, one dinosaurs, and one lizards/frogs/snakes. I think I just found a source for all my giant frog needs, and I noticed the miniatures are horribly out of scale, so the farm cat is the same size as the cow. Two words for ya.

Dire Tabby.

I plan on using the cards for our Deadlands game tomorrow because space is always at a premium at the table.

If you're going to use the card army, be sure to download Beyond the magic mirror and its companion adventure from WotC's site. They are 1e, but easily convertibl and take the party through an absolutley annoying romp through Wonderland. Apparently one of the players in another group here in Fort Worth refused to play when the aparty found themselves there. S it must be fun for the DM! :)

Definitely buy (hardcopy on EBay or somewhere) or download (from WotC's site) EX1 Dungeonland and EX2 Land Beyond the Magic Mirror. The first is Gygax's take on a Wonderland-like setting and the second one is sorta the "Through the Looking Glass" sequel.
