Goal Accomplished...I finally bench pressed 405 lbs...

I've been lifting for a little over a year. I finally hit 405 lbs. on my bench press. It took some work, but I did it. I'm ecstatic.

Those who lift weights know how hard it is to hit the higher poundages. I did it with no drugs, no supplements, and no equipment. Just eating lots of protein and time on the iron.

This was an important goal I set for myself. I'm damn happy to have achieved it. I wanted to share my elation with my fellow EN Worlders. I know those who lift definitely understand how much work it takes to build a natura, raw over 400 bench press.

Funny you should ask. Bench press is my best lift. I squat only 415 lbs. for 2 or 3 reps and I deadlift 405 lbs. I'm about equal on all my lifts.

So does that mean you dumbbell curl 405 also? :D :p

Very good stuff! Keep up the good work!

405 is insanely amazing. i have seen similar weights benched, and it is only really impressive if you are there to see how poorly the bar tolerates the weight.

congrats, that is truly an accomplishment to be proud of.

You speak the truth about the bar not being able to handle the weight. I hurt my shoulders twice because the bar I used was bent and put unequal pressure on the shoulders causing a rotator cuff injury. Had a to take a month or two off on the way to 400 because of bad bars.
