I'm an OGL diehard myself, and while (if I had to be honest) I'm not sure if it'd ever happen, I'd love to see someone back-convert this to 3.5 or PF1, which it would need to be released under the OGL for them to do.

I don't think it will need much conversion...if any, to fit 3.5e/Pathfinder.

Point noted about the OGL though. I'm more familiar with the OGL, so maybe I will stick with that.

I don't know them well. However, I believe they handle IP differently, so if there is anything you don't want to share then you might look into more closely. However, if your completely open (like LevelUp) you can release it in either or even both!

The OGL requires including the whole license, by CC just requires that you attribute the license (IIRC). Here is all WotC has on the SRD 5.2.1

I'm okay with sharing the core rules. Not so sure about the individual Epic Spells, Artifacts and Dimensional Forging Materials though.

Hey U_K! I was wondering, what kinds of Immortal-tier Elementals do you have planned, and what are some of the strongest of them?

-Arcane :)

Well I have loads of ideas for Epic Elementals (including a bunch of cool ones in the Bestiary). But not sure I have the full structure in place as yet for elementals of each dimension, at least not one I am happy with. It's like I have all the pieces, but just not sure what order to put them in...although 6D Tulpamancers create Artificial Elementals., so those are already locked in.

So most will likely show up in the 2nd Bestiary (the Planes of Chaos one), but there will still be a handful in the first Bestiary as well as a full section on something I can't discuss yet that may or may not be elemental related that fans of a certain famous Japanese videogame franchise might enjoy. ;)

As another question, is there a material that weapons/armor can be forged from that is basically made out of shadows/darkness/negative light?

Yes there are actually a few that play off that sort of trope. That chapter is still being worked on though so a few things might be subject to change. Although I am fairly certain I'll stick with 8D Tenebricose which is matter that has never been touched by God's Presence. I guess it's akin to the pure evil from the (original) Time Bandits movie.

Hey U_K! I have a quick question about the Space Marine/Sci-Fi soldier thing you showcased here. When you said that Space Marines were about CR 12, does that mean marines along the lines of Starcraft 2 Terran Marines/Halo ODST troopers, or people like 40K Marines/Primaris?

I was thinking specifically of 40k Space Marines...the weakest versions of them - obviously Custodes and Primarchs would be higher.

As I mentioned previously most Sci-fi Troopers are just basic humans), but the 40k Space Marines are bio-engineered and what I would call 'proper' Kardashev Scale II soldiers.

I remember watching a video someone did saying how many Astartes were worth a Custodes and how many of those were worth a Primarch etc. Although I couldn't find it on a quick search there. But a jump of 20:1 is a CR +20 jump (as long as the baseline is CR 8 or higher). Albeit the problem of diminishing returns is hard to accurately pin down - even though I am sure it exists.

In my system I think a CR +16 monster (worth 10 characters of the lower CR) will shrug off the basic attacks of weaker foes and may possibly one-shot opponents with even its basic attacks.

But the counter to that is to use Swarm/Unit rules in groups of more than 10. So 10 Fire Giants might be collectively a CR 24 Encounter, whereas 100 might be 'on paper' a CR 40 Encounter but halving the effectiveness after the first 10 would make a 'Swarm' of 100 Fire Giants more like CR 32 which seems more reasonable:

x2 = CR +4
x3 = CR +8
x6 = CR +12
x10 = CR +16
...then halve effectiveness every x10
x30 = CR +20
x100 = CR +24
x1000 = CR +28...so 1000 CR 1/2 Orcs would be a CR 14 'swarm'

By the way did anyone watch Blood of Zeus Season 3? I finished it last night - fantastic last season although goes by very fast since its a lot of action.
