Godlike D20

The non-d20 rules really impressed me. I can't get motivated enough to study the d20 rules to give you a scoop.

Go with the straight dope, I say.

The Godlike mechanics are lean and mean. Sure they have their rough edges but they kick *$% where it counts.

I'd be very interested to hear if folks are using it as a D20 book. I'm sure that the D20 conversions helped persuade more retailers to take a chance on stocking the game (and distributors to stock it more deeply) -- but is it also being played as D20, or are the actual consumer buyers going with the "real" system instead?

It's not a d20 game

It's not really a d20 game. The OGL rules are sort of a wierd point based thing, from what I've read.

I'm not into Godlike. If I really wanted superheroes, I'd pick up MEGS or dive into hero. If I wanted d20 compatible, I'd wait for a real d20 game.

The base Godlike character creation system has a lot more in common with Everway than other superhero games. When they did the d20 conversion they tried to capture that a bit but I don't think it works out terribly well and I don't think including d20 stats in future supplements would add anything other than marketing.

I didn't buy it for the d20 rules anyway and I'm sort of curious if anyone else bought it expecting a set of d20 Supers rules.
