Pathfinder 1E Golarion Setting Discussion

thanks. I should have been more specific and stated what has already been released (as I already have a subscription to the APs, I'll get that after the Carrion Crown [current AP] is done, just 2 to go...).

Nonetheless, it will be something to look forward to!

To my knowledge just the brief mentions in the original campaign guide.

Golaron...is Paizo looking at what Forgotten Realms did both right and wrong, and learning from it. It is a modular, plug-and-play world that serves as a backdrop for Pathfinder - both designed to be easily raided for homebrew (or even other published settings) and being the setting of choice.

The one issue I have is that it does sometimes feel a little patchwork with all the themes, but that isn't anything that can't be smoothed over by a decent GM.

I'll be honest, though - the real reason I picked up the Pathfinder Campaign Setting for 3.5 (prior to the development of Pathfinder the RPG) was the brilliant and sexy typography. Once I actually started reading the book, though, BAM! I was hooked.

In no real order:

The Great Beyond.
The Darklands.
Guide to Korvosa.

Korvosa strikes me as being the new Waterdeep. I love how it's written up and would use this as a starting point for new campaigns fairly often I think.

Cool. Thanks for the recommendations. I keep hearing good things about Golarion, but haven't picked up any setting stuff so far.

How much Mythos is there? I know the Carrion Crown book 4 has some.

There isn't THAT much, but there are multiple mentions of an area called the Dark Tapestry, described as the places between the stars, that essentially contains all the mythos flavor. There are also a couple of specific instances of the effect of the Dark Tapestry on the setting, as in the case of the god Zon Kuthon, sorta, maybe.
