If it helps, undead are also not disjoined For the same reason as golems really. (btw I think MD is too powerful anyway..lol)

Two wizards with MD . . . Why not just gate the party to the NE plane? They'd last a little longer!

I can't think of a good reason why MD doesn't get rid of constructs, but does get rid of magic items. Heck, the SRD even says constructs are built like magic items. But that's not the rule.
