Magen seem like they'd be good here, especially the Galvan Magen, which has a 60 ft x 5ft recharge nonmagical lightning AoE and flight.
There's one nasty encounter in Frostmaiden that pairs them with flesh golems so that they can simultaneously blast their foes and heal their allies with the same attack.

What about the siege golem from Cityscape in 3ed?

Or lighting golem in 2nd ED.

Maybe you are looking for something like the Thayan golem.

Kobold press has a ton of golems in their books, and I think there's an srd type thing online. I like the bee hive golem a lot

Great suggestions all. I probably should've said Constructs instead of Golems to cast a wider net. I can't believe I almost forgot about my all-time favorite construct - the Marut Inevitable, which has chain lightning attacks, and/or a chest beam from the variant type. Though I can't think of a feasible reason why the wizard would have a Marut at his disposal, I'll have to think more on that. Perhaps a defective one or one that is magically compelled and has its Plane Shift ability suppressed?

Glass or Crystal golem that focuses sunlight into a laser attack - I'm sure I've seen this somewhere but cannot recall the source
I'm pretty sure that it was the stained glass golem that had a prismatic spray attack, which was a very cool idea that i definitely want to use one day. Possibly it was an old 2e Ravenloft monster, from memory?

Pretty sure they were inspired by a scene from Young Sherlock Holmes
