Any info to share on the book based on Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice?

Last I recall reading from the company's website was it had been pushed back to Q2 2004.

If I may offers some speculation, I'm sure, besides wanting to take the time to produce a quality product, the company wouldn't mind having the next novel in the series conincide as closely as possible with this product's release.

Again, not saying that's affecting release date, but I'm sure they would like the two to line up as close as possible together.

I agree with the point you are making. It would increase sales quite a bit to have both come out at the same time. The only problem with this is that we don't know when AFfC will be out. It is speculated that it is April 2004. This is the date that my computer at work has, but this is the same computer that said April 2003 then August 2003. :( We just don't know when it will be out. Personally I think it will be out in here in the states in August 2004. I hope I'm wrong and it will be out sooner then that.

Last I heard, Mr. Martin wanted to be finished with it, and was closing in somewhat, by the end of this year. IF that takes place, I think your August prediction will turn out to be quite accurate.

IF......

The way I see it is this: He'll finish it by the end of this year. If everything he's already finished and has gone through the editorial process and rewrites, etc then with what he has written since his last update on AFfC only has to go through that process after New Year's day. That might take two months and with printing that might mean that it would be published in the UK in March with then a 5 month delay to have it published in the US, usually it's 6 months. All of this is entirely my speculation, I have no inside information. This is just my reasoning from working in book retail for a few years now. Hopefully there won't be such a big delay here in the US after AFfC is finished.

Opps, I realized I ended the sameway twice with two posts in the same thread. :o
