First Post
I am looking for a good game store in the Mt. Prospect Illinois area. I will be doing consulting work in the area and will need resources to help kill the time.

You have to ask?

Silly person.

Probably the single best gaming store in all of Illinois (maybe the Midwest) is located in Mount Prospect.

Games Plus is near the corner of Northwest Hwy and Elmhurst Road.

I have yet to see a gaming store as good as this place.

Dang-beat me to it, Doc. I saw the title, and thought, "Gee. Good game stores in Mount Prospect? Let me think ..." :)

I moved away from that area some years back-it's good to know they're still running their wonderful business. I particularly remember their miniatures section with fondness-they had everything.

And for a "fall-back" there's always the Game Guild here in Lake Geneva. Why not enjoy a resort area instead of the dreary Chicagoland suburbs?

Only a short drive from Flatland, you'll find Lake Geneva an unctiously solicitous tourist trap as long as you have folding green.

Located on Main Street, the Game Guild is likelt the most interesting place in town, unless you like bars and loose women.

Host Dennis Harsh, a veteran of Gary Gygax's various RPG campaigns, as well as those of Ernie Gygax, will greet you warmly when entering the shop, assist you in your spending needs.

So when you think gaming, think LAJE GENEVA!

(Honest, guys, the head of the Chamber of Commerce made me post this!)

A post about the Game Guild, Gary, and not an ounce of Whit?

Oh dear, what an awful pun

I'll be Harsh in this reply to get even, seeing being a Wies-guy is no longer appropriate...

I will have to check out Games Guild sometime.

However, I highly recommend Games Plus. It has a good selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a nice large game room. It was also the site of EN Chicago Gameday 1 in January, a gathering of gamers from the Chicago area and beyond. Eric Noah made an appearance. I DMed on 3 hours of sleep. (Thank goodness for caffeine.)

As one at the Gameday who was from beyond, I must say it is an awesome store. Their selection is amazing!

And now I have to travel down to Lake Geneva (some day). Just too many good stores to explore.... :D
