Good PDA character software?

Tewligan

First Post
So, in a vain attempt to organize my life, I'm looking at getting a PDA in the very near future. Like any good gamer would, I realized that this useful device could be pressed into service as a game aid - specifically, to keep my character sheets and notes. I've been poking around online and found a few PDA character sheets - can anyone give me a heads up on any in particular that they've found useful or otherwise?

I've got a Pocket PC (Toshiba e740 -- Don't buy Toshiba!) and I haven't really been able to find anything useful out there. There are a few dice rollers that I've used a few times. The offerings seem to look better for PalmOS...

What makes PDA software good in your opinion? What features are you looking for?
I'm looking for software that, when the DM asks if I have my character sheet, lets me hold up my PDA and say "yep". I took a look at your website, and saw that your software is for PocketPC PDAs. Grr...and I just picked up a PalmOS PDA yesterday! The search continues, I guess. I've found a couple, I'm just trying to decide which one to try first.

I didn't find any of the PDA character sheets any use for me - but I have a PalmOS unit (great choice BTW) and I've found that the best thing of all is to use a spreadsheet. It works especially well if your PDA supports 320x320 resolution. I use Tinysheet which synchronises nicely with MS-Excel, I dare say other ways of doing it would work too.

You can download my spreadsheet from here:

- as you can see I use "off-screen" bits to hold the base figures for stuff and the main viewing area is where all the calculated bits that you use all the time appear - saves, AC, skill checks etc.

Let me know if you find it useful.

Regards

Okay, I found one called PDAWarrior that seems solid. I had found another one called RPG3e 2.0 that also worked pretty well, but the author's website no longer exists, and I can't register it on any of the PDA software sites. So, looks like PDAWarrior gets my money. It's easy to use and easy to find stuff, and has an automatic dice roller in case I foolishly forget my dice. Perfect!
