D&D 5E Good psionics-themed Wizard subclass?

It would need playtesting, but for me, the spell list is WAY TOO long and strong, you've taken most of the best spells around all the PH, with what I see as little justification for things like dispel magic, Bend Time, Time Stop, Counterspell and so many others.
Yeah, you'd think that. But our playtests have shown that it's actually not bad at all. With DM guidance, the players often choose spells that have a certain focus like Psychic damage, Enhancements, and some Healing. Plus, while the spell list may appear long, the number of spells the PCs can choose are still limited by their class / subclass and their known spells. So they will never have access to that entire list at once. Additionally, you can always eliminate a Psionic Wizard's spell book or the "Change spells after a long rest" of a Cleric class, and instead tell them they can only know a number equal to their level + their spellcasting ability modifier.

In any case, that's a quick and easy solution if you want to have interesting and varied Psionic characters, without the headache of balancing the rest of your game against the overpowered Psi classes online.
