Good supplement for Castles and Keeps?

The Stronghold Builder's Guide from WotC seems like an obvious choice.

Good luck,
Jason

It's actually the opposite of what I was asking for. I'm looking for a book with a ton of castles and keeps in it, and don't care about construction rules.

I have the SBG anyway.

From the Shadows, an adventure for 2nd Edition ravenloft is set in a full detailed castle named Avernus, the Azalin's castle. The plants are great and they have descriptions for all the rooms there, although you might not want to use most of them.

Just an idea. Castle blueprints always bugged me too.

Wow, those maps are stunning. I suddenly have the urge to use HARN maps for my campaign setting. Wow. Beautiful.

I picked up Castles & Keeps (the HTML download thing) and it's also very, very good. Though the maps are difficult to print.

In the pre-Campaign Cartographer days NO-ONE could touch HarnWorld when it came to maps. Even today they are still heads & shoulders above most of the competition.

If you want a quasi-medieval setting then I can't recomend Harn products strongly enough. It is an amazingly well crafted product line.

Hi,

Thanks very much! I hope you enjoy Castles & Keeps. If you have any problems printing the maps at the scale you want, please feel free to email me. I also posted steps on printing them at desired scales using most art programs on the Darkfuries and RPGNow websites.

You might be interested to know that Castles & Keeps is being expanded into a 96-page printed sourcebook (Fantastic Fortresses: Castles & Keeps) that is coming in April. The sourcebook contains the five original strongholds that are redrawn in grayscale (and now include lost rooms), complete with historical backgrounds and full d20 system information for the strongholds, garrisons and inhabitants. More information about it can be found here.

Here's a sample of some artwork from Fantastic Fortresses: Castles & Keeps:

I'll be posting floor plan samples on the Workshop page this coming week.

All the best,
