Goodman D20 PDF DCC's $2.00!!

I just realised that XCrawl products are also on the list of products discounted.

So are the wicked fantasy factory. Which I had never tried before--came too late and flew in under my radar--but after a recommendation in a previous "best adventure" thread, I tried the Iron Giant one out, and it's pretty cool!

Ok, a further update to the "can we still download the PDF's we bought after December 31st?" saga. I e-mailed Goodman Games asking this:

Hi,

I just wanted to clear something up that I'm not too sure about. As I understand it Goodman Games are making 4E DCC's. Due to licencing legal business, you cannot sell the 3.5E DCC PDF's after December 31 2008. Is that correct?

What I am wondering is, if I buy any of the 3.5E DCC's from Paizo or RPG Now before Dec 31, can I still continue to download copies of the PDF after Dec 31? Or will the download links to the DCC's I have bought be removed as well?

I ask because I am interested in buying quite a few of your PDF's while they are on sale but I don't know if I'll be able to download copies of them all before the end of December.

I got this reply back from Joseph Goodman:

Hi Adam,

That is correct. We will not be selling these modules after December 31. I am not familiar with Paizo’s or RPG Now’s policy of downloading products after the product is no longer for sale. You would have to check with them. But I will tell you that we will not be selling the modules after December 31, so if their download function depends on the modules being available and for sale, you may not be able to get them after that date. Hope that helps.

So in case you didn't realise it before, all 3.5E Goodman Games products will no longer be available for purchase after December 31st. If you want to get any of them it is now or never.

I'm going to e-mail RPG Now and post on my Paizo thread to double check that they have the ability to allow people to download PDF's that are no longer available for sale. I imagine that they do, but it pays to be sure. I'll post back in this thread when I know more.

Paizo were quick to respond to my question. Here is the response from Paizo:

Our downloads are not tied to the PDFs being available for sale, so they will remain available.

Hey all,

Just a quick FYI, the 3.5 version of Blackdirge's Dungeon Denizens will be going the way of the dodo very soon. Since the 4E verison is about to be released, there is only a short time to get the 3.5 product.

It's only $2.00, which is a pretty sweet price for 128 pages and over 100 new 3.5 monsters, plus a bunch of templates and whatnot.

Ok, I got further information from Joseph Goodman and RPG Now.

This is what Joseph had to say about which products will no longer be available after December 31. He also provided a bit of info about XCrawl's future:

The takedown will include all 3.5 products that feature the d20 logo. This means everything but Etherscope and our 1E DCC modules, which never had the d20 logo on them. Xcrawl will also be removed. That said, we’re working on a new, improved version of Xcrawl that’s about a year away – not 4E, but not 3E either; it’s a stand-alone system that has its roots in 3E but is also fairly different.

This is the info I got from RPG Now customer service:

If the publisher is not pulling their files from us then you should be able to download any of your previous purchases from them from your order history just as you would now.

Even so, please be sure to back up all of your purchases to ensure that you will always have access.

So it looks like you will still be able to download the 3.5E PDF's you buy after December 31 from both Paizo and RPG Now.

However, you only have until December 31 to buy any Goodman Games product with a d20 logo. After that they will be gone forever!

I think it is great that all the stuff from Goodman Games is on such a huge discount. I just wish I had a job so I could afford to get one or two of them. Lots of really cool stuff that I have been meaning to get, but just have not been able to do so. Oh well. Yes another reason that unemployment sucks.
