The Smoke Dragon is composed of a cloud of black smoke that can travel anywhere a gas could go; i.e. not through air tight seals or solid matter. As such, she is very quiet and is always considered to be moving silently. She is difficult to see when merged w/smoke clouds, but her presence is easliy detected by a burning smell, and she risks setting off smoke alarms. She is lighter than air and can fly, but not cannot move at sprint speed. Smoke Dragon can create a cloud of smoke in 50ft radius that provides half concealment. She is immune to suffocation, criticals, starvation, disease, poison, exhaustion, nausea, cold and fire.

By filling a persons lungs with her own body, Smoke Dragon can take control of a person’s mind. If the target has immunity to suffocation, or has no lungs to fill, the power is ineffective. It’s clear if someone is possessed b/c a thick black smoke pours out of their mouth every time they exhale.

Duplication +10 (half, personal, continuous)
Smoke dragon is capable of creating two copies of herself as a half action, and can have up to 40 “dragonettes” existing at one time. These dragonettes appear exactly like the original but have a power cap of 5 instead of 10. A dragonette can only live for 5 rounds in the open air, so it must find a person to possess in order to survive. Smoke Dragon and all her duplicates maintain a mental link, and if the original Dragon dies one of the duplicates immediately becomes the new Smoke Dragon.

Appearance/Personality/ Background
Smoke Dragon is a demonic force that can only manifest itself in the smoke of humans being burned alive. There aren’t many witch-burnings nowadays so she usually shows up after someone falls asleep while smoking in bed.

Although she isn’t physically threatening, Smoke Dragon is almost impossible to catch. She’s smart enough to always leave one or two possessed people hanging back from any confrontations. That way, if she dies the reserved duplicate will become the new original. If threatened in combat, Smoke Dragon will first create a cloud, then make duplicates for one or two rounds, and then have all the dragonettes split up in different directions. Her enemies will then have to decide which dragon to follow. If any dragonette gets away successfully, she will self destruct and transfer to that form.

Smoke Dragon is also a good liar and follows the number one rule of Super Villainy: make the heroes do all the work for you.


OOC Comments
I wanted to create a villain with mass possession. I thought about doing an area of effect mind control or something like that, but then decided duplication and possession had more style. It makes her almost impossible to catch. Using Duplication there is always a “real” character and the less real duplicates, but combining the survival extra, and a feat that allows her to will her own death seemed like a tricky away around the situation where “if you get the queen all the workers die too.”

This is another "Day from Hell" villain. I expect that the PCs will foil whatever she's doing and kill some duplicates, but not capture her. Hopefully she'll make a good recurring villain.

Appearance/Personality/ Background
A person possessed by a dragonette appears normal in every way except for the black smoke which pours out of their mouth and nostrils. It’s easy to tell once the person is no longer possessed b/c they go into a coughing fit and a draconic smoke cloud emerges from them.

OOC Comments
This is a typical person posessed by a Dragonette. Not very intimidating in combat, but useful for more creative activities.

Prisoner- Gorgi is trapped within the suit until he dies. Unfortunately he doesn’t age, or need water, food, or air. Sucidal- Gorgi wants to die.

Appearance/Personality/ Background
Gorgi Jimenez is a grocer who found the Pangolin Armour and has been the latest in a short line of Pangolins. The armor is made of thousands of metallic scales that have to be arranged in exactly the right way for the suit to animate. The armor is perfectly sealed and the wearer has no way to escape it. Obviously the only people interested in such a device are both insane and very patient.

Another “Day from Hell” Villain
A very dense and heavy brick. I want to see what my players do to a guy who is not very versatile or clever, but is practically invulnerable to normal damage and mental attacks.

**Apparently, not as invulnerable as I suspected. Despite his 20(!) armor, a power attacking opponent w/a 20 STR/13 super-STR still whooped up on the Pangolin. He lasted like 5 rounds. :(

Addiction: Apex is super intelligent, but maust take daily doses of his Kognizants-Serum or his intelligence will fade to that of a normal gorilla. The Serum is difficult to synthesize and requires rare and expensive materials. This forces Apex to steal what he cannot obtain legally. Dependants: Apex feels a deep responsibility to protect his brethern from humanity. Unfortunately, that necessitates the murder of all humans encroaching on the native habitat of the gorillas, and implanting his allies w/cybernetic enhancements and mind-control chips.


Appearance/Personality/Background:
Apex is a big gorilla w/a jet-pack and a bubble helmet and a ray-gun.

A european bio-tech company attempted to create an intelligence enhancing drug- like brain steroids. It was a partial failure, in that it caused humans to go insane and die, but a partial success in that it worked on the primates it was tested on. Apex's intellect grew quickly after taking the Kognizants-Serum, and unlike the other test subjects, he realized that the scientists were sure to destroy him at the conclusion of their experiments. Rather than allow that, he murdered them all, learned to create the drug himself, and fled the laboratory. Since then he has been working on a permanent serum, and defending his fellow apes.

I love gorilla characters. Especially super intelligent gorillas. If I could play a game w/all gorillas, I would in a heartbeat.

Weaknesses
Inanimate Object: The Iron Skull can’t do much w/o a body except talk or teleport home by spending a Hero Point. His telepathy/datalink only works through physical contact, so unless someone tries to pick him up, he’s incapable of mind controlling anyone.

Appearance/Personality/ Background
The Iron Skull’s name is appropriate as he is, basically, a human skull encased in a metal shell. Usually this skull is attached to the top of some large biological body that’s head has been severed and fitted w/a cybernetic neck-socket, but sometimes the Iron Skull is bodiless and quite vulnerable.

OOC Comments
Everybody loves a good removable head character. He’s kinda like Ghost Rider, with the floating skull in a fiery aura. I always thought that was a cool image. I also like the idea of a robotic brain controlling a biological body- sort of a reversal of the typical human-brain-in-a-robot-body situation.

This is the base character, a psychic construct computerized-brain, when he is w/o a body and is basically helpless. Other versions of him will be with bodies.
