Gradual Item Creation? Help please! [2002 Thread]

Well, i would say you can, but have to pay the extracost of "wrong itemslot". IMO it is like putting a +1 weapon-enchantment on a +3 small metal shield. The weapon enchantment would only works with shield-bash, of course...

That's not RAW, but I think it'd make a fine houserule.

Wait a minute... I thought that I read that enchanting shields with a weapon plus was OK and only the cost of the regular plus. Or is that only the spikes on a spiked shield?

Either a shield or a spiked shield can be crafted as a magic weapon in its own right.

Yes, but is that going to cost extra, a la adding a second power to a wondrous item?

And what if I want to add a woundrous item power to a shield with an armor bonus and a weapon bonus.

Aye carumba!

I noticed that someone edited the title of this thread. Does that mean nobody will reply?

I would actually like to know if there are any rules for adding these other-item-type abilities to weapons and shields.

Maybe I'll just have to start a new thread.

As an aside, regarding the original topic... if your weapon is made of cold iron in 3.5e, you want to do all the enchantment at once. Every time you do work on a cold iron weapon, it costs an additional 2,000 gp.
