Graph Paper Size...

I have an old pad of the blue 4 per inch grid paper, but thats just for sketching. For my final maps, I have a photoshop file the size of an 8.5x11 piece of paper (with a good size margin) with a 4 per inch grid in grey. I make my maps with black outlines on other layers. The lines show up well, I have a lot of editing power, I can place pretty much anything I need, and it prints out nice and neat, which I like.

My dungeons don't see graph paper until I have a wet-erase marker in my hand at the gaming table and I'm drawing on the battlemat. My notes usually contain a sketch/block diagram of the dungeon with only the rooms that are interesting drawn with any sense of scale.

Since the players don't map, why should I?
