Grappled targets and single target effects

We were just facing some large oozes that like to grapple.

They were immune to any spell for which SR applied, and if an Arcane spell was cast in their area they drained a spell/slot fom the caster's highest level reserve and gained temporary hit points based on the level.

One of them had a caster grappled and was crushing/acid burning them to death. No way to get to them, and no way for them to get a spell off, even a d-Door or Teleport. (He was taking an averge of 23 points of damage per round, on top of the base 20 needed to cast while Grappled. )

My Bard/Sublime Chord used a Supernatural musical ability called Song of Timelessness to freeze the creature in a timeless field..There's a Will save but no SR, an since it isn't a spell or spell-like ability, SR dosn't apply.

The question comes up though: Since the description of the ability (Complete Arcane) says that the creature is enveloped in a glistening field of timelessness, and the PC was in the middle of the thing, was he also caught in the effect?

It says "single creature", but...

So how would you handle a situation like that?

For the record, the DM had it affect the target ooze only, and once the rushing and acid damage stopped the Wizard was able to D-Door out without a problem.

If the subject fails its save, it is frozen in a shimmering aura of timelessness and can take no actions. However, no force can affect it- weapons cannot reach it, spells that target it automatically fail, and if the ground it is standing on suddenly disappears, it would not even fall.
I'd have to rule the ooze is the only creature affected by the benefits of timelessness. As to the wizards fate, it sounds like the victim can't even be contacted by corporeal matter, so being fully encased the wizard would harmlessly {to the slime] implode or maybe get shunted into the Far Realm. Or if the GM is easygoing the wizard might shunt away from the ooze while remain inside normal curved spacetime (game world).

I feel the DM ruled correctly in your instance, Green, since the ooze was invulnerable and unable to attack so too were it's victims not affected by it being even present or near them.
