Grappling/Spell component retrieval

Looking through the PHB grappling section I noticed that while being grappled as a full round action you can retrieve a spell component from a pouch without making a grapple check. But to draw a light weapon, you need to make a grapple check. This seems inconsistent. Is this right?

Yep, it's probably because a spellcaster normally cannot make a grapple check and they realized how damn tough it is to be in a grapple for those.

That's not a realistic option, drawing a weapon should work without a check, too. And I don't really see anything wrong with that either.
