Its a campaign setting 4th ed non compatible? pfft :p

If I was interested in the concept I'd buy it whatever system I was gonna run it in, and steal ideas based on how compatible I could make them.

If you don't like it blame WOTC for not allowing cross platform publishing. 0one has two major systems to choose from. They had to pick one - if its not your system of choice too bad, so sad.

Don't go bad mouthing a product in a very public place just because its not your brand of goodness. Especially since a huge portion of this will be maps which you can adapt to any system.

See the work for its intended audience - don't slander it for what it isn't. Your comments sound like juvenile whining, I hope they don't influence anyone looking at this product for OGL.

Do you work for Øone?

Well, if they had gone 4e, they wouldn't be able to release this product until October. That would have sucked.

I suppose they should be advertising this over at the Paizo boards. ;) Gooooo Pathfinder! :D

I am in no way affiliated with 0one but I like their products and think people should be fair to publishers here.

It has to be painful to release a new product and see a prominent post read "Product..... sucks". Had I written that by mistake or simply poor wording choice (which I think is the case) I'd want someone to point out how it might be perceived.

I see no reason why it wouldn't be easy to make this 4e just like I imagine it would be pretty easy to make it a little modern for Changeling and other modern fantasy games. You don't need an awesome system to be able to use items from other gamews. You need an awesome DM who has the ability to covernt items between two games.

Just asking, mostly because I figured that you might be, given your fairly irrational reaction to a headline that is quite clear (imo) - Gundark thinks it sucks that The Great City was made for the 4e rules. Of course, if you want to read something into it, it could (if you stretch and bend it enough) mean that it isn't 4e and it sucks ...

Anyway, I was also asking, because Øone is a very odd name (considering most of you can't write it correctly with your keyboard) and I was looking for some more info about the company or such.

Cheers

I also read the title of this thread as "Great City Campaign Setting (which is not 4e, by the way) sucks," so I can see why some people might think that was an unfair thing to say.

I really like Øone's maps, and I am curious about what they are doing with the new setting. I don't mind creating just about everything myself if I can just have someone else make all the maps that I could have use for. For that reason they are one of my favourite publishers, as their PDFs with city maps are the best I have seen. Also for that reason it doesn't really bother me that they are not going to 4E. The maps will be gorgeous, the fluff might be inspiring.

I do hope that some replies here were not attempts at edition war fuelling. That would be sad.
