Greek\Roman Campaign

My DM is starting a new group with the idea of making a Greek\Roman Campaign.
I was interested in ideas for characters and most important, any stories you guys might have of this type of campaign.

Here are his rules:

-Time: 400 a.C. and 200 a.C.
- It will be a mix of History with Fantasy, with the following civilizations: Greek, Roman, Persian, Egyptian, Celta, Cartagians
Races:
- Humans (any region), Elfs are really rare (Greek only) and Dwarfs rare also (Will be followers of Hefestos or slaves, and will be seen as a lower race), Half-elfs (same rules as elfs).
Classes:
-Barbarians: Celtas or Persian nomads
Bards: Greek or roman
Clerics: can be followers of any greek, roman or persian god
Druids: Celta (has a bad image in Greece)
Fighter: Any place with a army
Monk: School of Atlas (Esparta only)
Rogue: Merchant or has a day-work (all followers of Hermes)
Ranger: Hunters and Trackers (Women are followers of Artemis)
Paladin: Athenas (Greek), Minerva (roman), Marduk (persian)
Sorcerer: Women only. Greek are followers of Hecates (cannot be good) and Egypt are followers of Isis.
Wizards: Greek only and all must be specialist in some school. Transmuters will receive Brew potion instead of Scribe scroll.

I did a PCs-are-human-only greek/roman/egyptian campaign. Actuall, all of Europe was there too, but the players were either Greek or Egyptian, as that was the empire. I created a false world (no interest in historical accuracy) and made sure to incorporate the mythology into the encounters (attacking a mummy had horrible reprocussions for thc Cleric of Osiris).

Sorry, I don't have much useful, it was a favorite campaign and I wanted to share.
