Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps War

Well now that it's over, I thought it was one of the best mostly self-contained crossovers in superhero comics.

Really with Sinestro founding the evil counterpart to the Green Lanterns with the (Yellow) Sinestro Corps + Cyborg Superman + Superman Prime + Anti-monitor. And the Green Lantern Corps gaining the authorization to use lethal force, and the reveal that there will be more Lantern corps rising in the future including the Star Sapphire Corps and more. I felt it was one of the best stories this year in comics, certainly more enjoyable than World War Hulk.

I have to admit I like the idea of the different colored Corps rings, each tied to an emotion: Green = Willpower, Yellow = Fear, Red probably = Rage, etc.

I was just about to post this thread! :)

Loved it thoroughly. My countryman Ivan Reis is THE best artist working in comics these days. All the detail and quality of Bryan Hitch, but far faster!

So:

Red -> Anger
Orange -> Greed
Yellow -> Fear
Green -> Willpower (I'd prefer it to be called Courage, but whatever)
Blue -> Hope
Indigo -> Compassion
Violet -> Love

This was the first thing DC I've read in...years, really. More of a Marvel person, but I loved it.

And yeah, better than World War Hulk, but a more apt comparison would be Annihilation and that has just been amazing, both the original and the current Conquest. I mean, sure, Sinestro Corps War had some great stuff and great characters, but without an ass-kicking, gun-toting Racoon...well, why bother? :cool:

Hah, I think I'm just a sucker for space stories.

True, true.

I think that's why I loved both of them. So many awesomely crazy characters. Though its still really hard to beat Rocket Racoon...
