Re: Another Example

This is just another example of how cool everyone at Green Ronin is, and how much they support the OGL movement.

Cheers to Chris, Nicole and Hal for being the first in and continuing to give 100% effort even 3 years later.

Thanks for the encouraging words, James (and Hal and Darrin).

Hope to see many of you at GTS.

Count on it....need to catch up and hang out a bit. Congrats on Game Mechanics as well, should be a great mix.

M&M Superlink IS a royalty-free license.

If you want to use our PI, you still have to ask for permission (and we encourage you to).
Don't get me wrong. I like the fact that you're promoting use of body of work for future network of compatible material. I guess I am concerned about Item #2 on your web page. I mean how long would be the waiting period be for acquiring your permission while you review submitted material?

Forgive me if I'm asking such silly questions.

The problem, REG, is that I don't think we can answer these questions as specifically as you'd like at this point. I mean, we have no idea who is going to be submitting material, what kinds of material they're going to be submitting or anything yet.

It's much more realistic to respond when we get actual proposals.

Publisher 1: "Hey GreenRonin, here's the final PDF of that book of evil mutants we proposed. It's bigger/smaller/exactly the size we thought it would be."

Green Ronin: "Great! I see it's 16 pages long. We'll get back to you by Friday." or "Great! I see it's 256 pages long. We'll get back to you in the next 30 days." or "Great! Tomorrow is the start of GenCon so no one will be available to approve it until Date X."

I understand.

How about PI's in your MnM ruleset? Will I be allowed to use something like Power Points in my material for use with the "Superlink" logo? For example, I want 1st level PC to start with 20 Power Points + 10 points per level thereafter. Is that possible under "Superlink" (pending permission)?

Is it possible to use label such as "This product requires the use of Mutants & Masterminds(tm) Core Rulebook, published by Green Ronin Publishing" on my product or web page (if one were to do a fan site or online resource)?

Again, forgive me for asking such silly questions.

Yes, that's exactly the idea. :)

Sweet!

I guess the second part of my query above is out of the picture, huh?

:D That was the one I didn't know the answer to right off the top of my head. Figured I'd better check with the boss before opening my big mouth on that. But if you can't claim compatibility with that exact phrase, there will likely be something really similar as part of the whole Superlink logo/statement.

This is truly a cool step, guys! I will definitely be working up some material! Kudos all round to the GR crew - this is some wonderful stuff!

Cheers!
